This book tells the story of JD & Kit Clancey's five children. Born between 1902 and 1910 they lived through both World Wars, the Great Depression and more and their stories reveal the importance of family, faith and community in troubled times; the changing role of women in the first half of the twentieth century and how education enabled them to pursue occupations that were not available to the previous generation. Three of the Clanceys enlisted to serve during World War II and details of their service is covered in some detail including the death of one of them. This book is much more than a family history as it highlights the changing nature of family and society in the twentieth century.
